Sears, RadioShack, Others Sued Over Software IP

Law360, San Diego (June 3, 2011, 5:42 PM EDT) -- Sears Holdings Corp., RadioShack Corp. and other retailers on Thursday were accused in Illinois and Texas federal courts of violating a patent-holding company’s two software patents.

Hewitt, Texas-based Select Retrieval LLC sued 24 defendants, claiming they have infringed U.S. Patent Number 5,953,724, which covers a global database library data structure for hierarchical graphical listing computer software, and U.S. Patent Number 6,128,617, which relates to data display software with actions and links integrated with information.
