Tent Maker Fights To Keep DOD Small Business Contract

Law360, New York (June 7, 2011, 5:33 PM EDT) -- Outdoor Venture Corp. filed suit in federal court last Wednesday, seeking to prevent the U.S. Department of Defense from stripping it of a contract for combat tents on the ground that its subcontractor wasn’t a small business.

OVC asked the U.S. Court of Federal Claims to block the Defense Logistics Agency from terminating a four-year, small-business set-aside contract for military tents unless it agrees to reconsider whether its decision to hire Johnson Outdoors Gear LLC as a subcontractor clashed with its small-business status.
