Lennar Settles Construction Workers' OT Class Fight

Law360, New York (June 20, 2011, 2:36 PM EDT) -- Homebuilder Lennar Corp. struck a settlement deal Friday to end a putative class action in California that accused the company of improperly classifying assistant construction managers as exempt from overtime pay requirements.

Plaintiff Eric Gundersen asked the district court to preliminarily approve the proposed settlement with Lennar resolving state and federal wage and hour claims and to conditionally certify two classes of Lennar assistant construction managers employed in California for the purposes of the settlement.
