Judge Rejects Settlement In AIG Billing Action

Law360, New York (June 21, 2011, 6:09 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Monday rejected a proposed class settlement in a suit alleging American International Group Inc. billed policyholders for auto insurance after their policies had ended, telling the parties to prepare for trial.

Attorney Lewis G. Adler, who represents the proposed class, told Law360 on Tuesday that U.S. District Judge Robert B. Kugler faulted the settlement for not being detailed enough.
