Mercedes Owners Seek Cert. Over E-Class Leak Defect

Law360, New York (June 21, 2011, 2:40 PM EDT) -- The named plaintiff in a putative class action accusing Mercedes-Benz USA LLC of failing to notify consumers about an alleged defect in the water-management system in its E-Class vehicles asked for certification of the action in California on Monday.

Mercedes owner Tigran Cholakyan contends the water-management system of model year 2003 through 2009 E-Class vehicles suffers from an inherent design defect that can allow leaks when it rains or when the vehicles are washed.
