NY Mayor Seeks $600M From CityTime Contractor SAIC

Law360, New York (June 29, 2011, 6:57 PM EDT) -- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Wednesday demanded a $600 million refund from the technology contractor in charge of the city's payroll system CityTime, which is currently caught up in a criminal bribery and fraud investigation.

In a letter to SAIC Inc. CEO Walter Havenstein, Bloomberg said that criminal charges against two high-level SAIC employees involved in the project had raised troubling questions about the company's corporate responsibility and its efforts to minimize fraud.
