Cypress, Samsung Reach Deals In SRAM Antitrust MDL

Law360, New York (July 1, 2011, 7:26 PM EDT) -- The California federal judge overseeing multidistrict litigation over an alleged price-fixing conspiracy in the static random access memory market approved two settlements Thursday totaling $39.5 million, resolving direct purchaser claims against Cypress Semiconductor Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.

The settlements, given final approval by U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken, resolve claims against the last remaining defendants in the direct purchaser class action against SRAM makers that netted a recovery of almost $77 million, according to class attorney Steven Williams of Cotchett Pitre & McCarthy LLP....
