Time Warner Can’t Shake Cable Installers’ OT Action

Law360, New York (July 1, 2011, 4:31 PM EDT) -- Time Warner Cable Inc. on Friday lost its bid to beat a proposed overtime class action brought by contracted cable installers, with an Ohio federal judge ruling that a question exists as to whether the workers were employees of the communications giant.

The cable provider had argued in its summary judgment motion that the installers' direct employer should be responsible for overtime wages, contending that there was no joint-employment relationship.
