USPTO Nixes Oracle Patent At Issue In Google Suit

Law360, New York (July 5, 2011, 8:08 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office last week provisionally invalidated one of the patents at the heart of Oracle America Inc.'s suit in California accusing Google Inc.'s Android smartphone operating system of infringing its intellectual property.

A patent re-examination action issued by the USPTO on June 29 rejected all 24 claims of U.S. Patent Number 6,125,447, issued in 2000.
