ITC Once Again Delays Phone Chip Penalty Decision

Law360, New York (May 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cellular phone manufacturers and service providers who fear that the U.S. International Trade Commission will ban the importation of phones containing Qualcomm Inc. chips will once again have to wait for a ruling on the matter.

The ITC on Friday extended its deadline to determine what penalties to enforce against Qualcomm and third-party chip users for allegedly infringing Broadcom Corp. patents for next generation cellular phone chips.
