Final Approval Sought For $100M AmEx Settlement

Law360, New York (May 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Attorneys for the plaintiffs in a putative securities class action against American Express Co. have asked a judge to give final approval to a hard-fought settlement deal worth more than $100 million.

On Tuesday, co-lead counsel for a class that could include as many as 2.8 million members asked U.S. District Judge Deborah A. Batts to sign off on the settlement and plan of allocation, and certify the proposed class for settlement purposes.
