NFL Sued By Ex-Green Bay Packer Over Players' Images

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 7:09 PM EDT) -- A new class of retired National Football League players sued their former employer in Minnesota federal court on Wednesday, accusing the league of using their images in promotional films without the players' permission.

The putative class, led by former Green Bay Packers running back Darrell Thompson, alleges that the league is violating the publicity rights of over 450 former players through its NFL Films unit, which produces and sells movies containing archival game footage.
