FBI Probes News Corp. Phone-Hacking Claims

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 8:10 PM EDT) -- The FBI confirmed Thursday that it was looking into allegations of phone-hacking at News Corp. following demands from U.S. lawmakers that the agency investigate whether reporters for U.K. tabloid News of the World listened in on 9/11 victims.

The FBI said it was investigating the scandal but declined to specify whether it would focus on allegations that News of the World reporters bribed a New York City police officer to access the victims' private phone records.
