California Drops Claims Against Bristol-Myers

Law360 (May 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The state of California on Wednesday voluntarily dismissed claims against Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. accusing the health care giant of inflating average wholesale drug prices.

The claims against Bristol-Myers were brought as part of a qui tam suit filed by Ven-A-Care of the Florida Keys Inc. against Abbott Laboratories Inc. The case was transferred to multidistrict litigation in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 2003 and Judge Patti B. Saris later consolidated the case with similar cases.
