Vivendi Asks Court To Toss Ex-Exec's ERISA Case

Law360, New York (May 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Media and entertainment giant Vivendi SA has asked a court to dismiss the complaints of its former vice chairman that it breached his employment contract and illegally slashed his pension payments by 65%.

In a motion filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the company argued that the former executive, Edgar Bronfman Jr., had failed to state a valid claim under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
