Judge Won't Seal Google Email In Oracle IP Fight

Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 4:27 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Monday refused Google Inc.'s bid to get a key email sealed in its fight to fend off Oracle Corp.'s patent suit over the Android smartphone operating system, rebuffing its claims that the document was privileged.

U.S. District Judge William Alsup said that since Google claimed the document in question was only a draft of an email, it could not fall under attorney-client privilege protections.
