News Corp. Faces New British Hacking Probe

Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 3:16 PM EDT) -- U.K. police announced Saturday that they had opened a probe into allegations of computer hacking at shuttered tabloid News of the World, weeks after phone hacking allegations engulfed its parent company News Corp.

The Metropolitan Police Service said that the probe, dubbed Operation Tuleta, would look into “allegations regarding breach of privacy which fall outside the remit” of their investigation into phone hacking at News of the World. That investigation was known as Operation Weeting.
