Segan Sues Zynga Over Online Game Technology

Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 2:46 PM EDT) -- Technology development company Segan LLC sued Zynga Inc. on Friday in Delaware for allegedly infringing a patent related to Internet content displays with a number of its online games, including popular Facebook application FarmVille.

Long Island City, N.Y.-based Segan claims the web game developer willfully violated one of the company's patents. It seeks injunctive relief and damages.

The suit focuses on U.S. Patent Number 7,054,928, issued in May 2006 and covering a "system for viewing content over a network and method therefore." According to the patent,...
