2nd Circ. Nixes Convictions Of Gen Re, AIG Execs

Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 3:51 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit on Monday overturned the convictions of four former General Re Corp. executives and a former American International Group Inc. executive associated with a $500 million accounting scandal.

A three-judge panel threw out the criminal convictions of Gen Re ex-CEO Ronald Ferguson, ex-CFO Elizabeth A. Monrad, former senior vice presidents Christopher P. Garand and Robert D. Graham, and former AIG vice president Christian M. Milton because the lower court allowed misleading stock-price data evidence and the jury instructions on loss causation were flawed....
