UMG Wants To Bully Grooveshark Out Of Business: Atty

Law360, New York (August 10, 2011, 4:48 PM EDT) -- A Universal Music Group affiliate that sued Grooveshark for copyright infringement has violated antitrust law by trying to drive the music streaming service out of business in favor of rival Spotify, an attorney for Grooveshark told a New York judge Wednesday.

"They're trying to stamp out a competitor of the company they're backing," John J. Rosenberg of Rosenberg & Giger PC, who represents Grooveshark owner Escape Media Group Inc., told Judge Barbara Kapnick during a hearing.
