NebuAd To Donate $1.7M To End Web Snooping Suit

Law360, New York (August 16, 2011, 10:18 PM EDT) -- Defunct online advertising company NebuAd Inc. has agreed to donate about $1.7 million to Internet privacy nonprofits to settle a California class action alleging it illegally snooped on Web users, attorneys for the plaintiffs announced Tuesday.

As part of the settlement, several of the company's former officers and directors also agreed to testify against Internet service providers that used NebuAd, the attorneys said in a brief.

The plaintiffs have asked for about $720,000 in fees, bringing the total value of the settlement fund to $2.4 million,...
