Army Captain Gets 3 Years For Iraq Contracts Bribery

Law360, New York (August 17, 2011, 4:19 PM EDT) -- A U.S. Army captain convicted of taking bribes to direct lucrative government contracts in Iraq to a pair of contractors was sentenced Wednesday in New York to serve three years in prison.

Capt. Bryant Williams, called "the epitome of a corrupt official" by prosecutors, was convicted of honest services fraud and demanding and receiving bribes in December following a two-week trial. After serving his prison sentence, Williams will spend three years on supervised release, prosecutors said.
