Calif. Transit Agency Hit With 2nd Data Breach

Law360, New York (August 18, 2011, 3:52 PM EDT) -- A hacker breached the website of a San Francisco transit agency's police union and posted officers' personal information online Wednesday, the second data breach to occur at the agency since it blocked cellphone service in subway stations to disrupt rumored demonstrations.

The names, home addresses, phone numbers and employee identification numbers of 102 police officers and other employees with the BART Police Officers Association were stolen from the union's website by an unknown hacker, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.
