Universal May Have To Open Books For 'Smokey' Producer

Law360, Los Angeles (August 19, 2011, 7:18 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Friday ruled that Universal City Studios LLC may have to open its books to a producer of “Smokey and the Bandit” who claims he's owed profits from the iconic 1977 film, but trimmed other claims from the breach of contract suit.
