Retired Vivendi Exec Fires Back In ERISA Case

Law360, New York (June 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The former vice chairman of Vivendi SA has urged a court to deny the company's motion to dismiss a complaint alleging that his promised pension payments were unlawfully slashed by almost two-thirds.

In his opposition filed Wednesday in the Manhattan district court, Edgar Bronfman Jr., who worked for Vivendi and its predecessor for 20 years, said payments for 15 years of additional, phantom services were expressly granted by three separate contracts.
