PopCap Scores Reversal Of Rival's $6.7M Contract Win

Law360, San Diego (August 31, 2011, 11:00 PM EDT) -- A Texas appeals court on Wednesday knocked down a $6.7 million win for MumboJumbo LLC, rejecting a jury’s finding that video game maker PopCap Games Inc. had breached a contract with its former business partner and awarding PopCap nearly $1.6 million for MumboJumbo's contract violation.

The three-judge panel concluded that the jury’s holding that PopCap violated its distribution contract with MumboJumbo when it decided to market and sell its games on its own was not backed up by enough evidence, finding that damages should be awarded...
