Starz Won't Renew Netflix Streaming Contract

Law360, New York (September 2, 2011, 7:43 PM EDT) -- Starz Entertainment LLC said Thursday it would stop distributing its content on Netflix Inc.'s streaming system, following the Internet rental pioneer's move to start charging customers extra to watch movies and television online.

Starz — which distributes hits including "The Social Network," "Easy A" and "The Karate Kid" — will not renew a contract that expires in February, Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht said in a statement on Thursday.
