Feds Get 2nd Crack At Clemens With New Perjury Trial

Law360, New York (September 2, 2011, 8:55 PM EDT) -- A Washington federal judge on Friday reportedly gave prosecutors another shot at convicting Roger Clemens for perjury, denying the former MLB ace's bid to throw out the charges after the case was deemed a mistrial in July.

U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton rejected arguments from Clemens' argument that prosecutors had orchestrated a mistrial when they botched the handling of evidence that had been deemed inadmissible, according to the New York Daily News. Judge Walton set a new trial date for Aug. 17, the paper reported....
