Oracle, Google Clash Over Android Patent Mediation

Law360, New York (September 7, 2011, 10:25 PM EDT) -- Hours after agreeing to re-enter settlement talks with Google Inc. over Java technology, Oracle Corp. on Wednesday objected to Google's proposed representatives for the mediation session, which is aimed at ending the drawn-out patent battle before it goes to trial.

In a court filing, attorneys for Oracle requested the presiding judge instruct Google to send more senior-level corporate executives to the talks than its senior vice president for mobile, Andrew Rubin, and its general counsel, Kent Walker, whom Google had offered up for the talks....
