NCAA Hit With Negligence Class Suit Over Concussions

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 9:02 PM EDT) -- A former member of the Eastern Illinois University football team filed a putative class action Monday against the NCAA in Illinois federal court, saying the organization has negligently failed to protect student-athletes from debilitating head injuries.

Plaintiff Adrian Arrington claims the NCAA and co-defendant NCAA Football have known since the early 1970s that there is a high incidence of concussions among their student-athletes.
