Valley National Settles Black Keys Commercial Song Row

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 9:17 PM EDT) -- Nonesuch Records on Tuesday settled a suit in New York federal court against Valley National Bancorp and its ad agency over their alleged use of the Black Keys' Grammy award-winning song “Tighten Up” in a commercial without permission.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Frank Maas issued an order of discontinuance after attorneys for the parties reported that they had reached an unspecified settlement. Counsel for Warner Music Group-owned Nonesuch can restore the order within 30 days if necessary, it said.
