Gay Staffer Hits Jesse Jackson With Sex Harassment Suit

Law360, New York (September 19, 2011, 12:37 PM EDT) -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson and his advocacy organization were sued Friday by an ex-staffer and national radio personality who claims the civil rights leader and members of his staff harassed and ultimately fired him for being a homosexual.

Tommy R. Bennett sued Jackson and Rainbow Push Coalition in Illinois state court, saying he suffered a litany of abuses while working for the nonprofit organization, including homophobic comments made by members of the organization's staff and an unwanted sexual advance made by Jackson himself.
