Google Renews Email Fight In Oracle’s Android IP Suit

Law360, New York (September 21, 2011, 5:31 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. objected Monday to a California federal judge’s decision forcing the Internet titan to turn over a key email to Oracle Corp. in a patent fight over the Android smartphone operating system, reviving claims that the email is protected by attorney-client privilege.

Mountain View, Calif.-based Google claims a decision by U.S. Magistrate Judge Donna Ryu granting Oracle’s bid to compel Google to produce a potentially damaging email from a Google engineer ignores clear evidence that the document is protected communication.
