Oracle Estimates $1.2B In Damages In Google Dispute

Law360, New York (September 22, 2011, 11:28 PM EDT) -- Oracle Corp. said Thursday that Google Inc. would owe $1.16 billion if Oracle prevails in its patent infringement suit in California over Google's Android smartphone operating system.

Google could be on the hook for patent damages of up to $202 million, copyright actual damages of up to $136.2 million, and damages based on profits from infringing products of $823.9 million, according to a letter Oracle filed in response to Google's complaint about the estimates.
