Foreclosure Atty's Ex-Workers Win Class Cert. In WARN Suit

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 5:46 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Monday certified a class of ex-employees of lawyer David J. Stern, who ran a reputed robosigning foreclosure mill, for claims that he axed hundreds of employees en masse without proper advance warning.

Adopting the recommendations of a magistrate judge, U.S. District Judge Ursula Ungaro granted class certification to former employees of Stern, his law firm and his real estate services companies who were fired from the companies' Plantation, Fla., office from September 2010 to November 2010 without receiving notice 60 days...
