Internet Game Sites Targeted In Patent Suit

Law360 (June 21, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A slew of Web site owners, including The New York Times Co. and CNET Networks Inc., were hit by a lawsuit on Wednesday over a patent that covers Web games.

The suit, filed by Nevada-based patent holding company Beneficial Innovations Inc., alleged that the defendants in the case had used its patented technology in products that they may use, import, sell and offer to sell.

According to the suit, CNET Network's Web sites, and infringe on the patent-in-suit.
