Carnival Wants Cut Of BA, Virgin Price-Fixing Settlements

Law360, New York (October 7, 2011, 5:13 PM EDT) -- Carnival PLC on Thursday asked a California federal court to make the cruise line company a class member in multimillion-dollar settlements of long-haul fuel surcharge price-fixing claims against British Airways PLC and Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd.

Carnival says it bought thousands of airline tickets during the class period covered by the settlements — which put to rest claims that the airlines unlawfully agreed to impose fuel surcharges on tickets for air travel sold in both the U.S. and the U.K.
