Law360 (June 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A rival has hit litigious fax provider j2 Global Communications Inc. and its subsidiaries with a complaint that calls them “monopolists and patent trolls," months after j2 sued it for patent infringement.
According to the complaint, j2, which does business as eFAX, has exploited its dominant market position—according to it, that company controls 90% of the market—to “crush competition, raise their costs of operation, eliminate them as competitors in the relevant markets entirely, and substantially raise the cost of fax to e-mail services to customers.”
