JPML Centralizes DuPont Herbicide Suits

Law360, New York (October 20, 2011, 4:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation decided Thursday to create an MDL in Pennsylvania for lawsuits claiming that DuPont Co.'s now-recalled herbicide Imprelis wreaks havoc on spruce and pine trees.

Plaintiffs from 18 lawsuits in 11 district courts supported coordinated or consolidated pretrial hearings of claims that Imprelis causes the yellowing and curling of needles and branches of spruce, pine and other evergreen trees. The panel was aware of at least 26 potential tagalong actions in courts across the U.S.
