Sony, Columbia Battle Author’s ‘Premium Rush’ IP Suit

Law360, New York (October 24, 2011, 1:15 PM EDT) -- Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and Columbia Pictures Industries Inc. fought back Friday against claims that the upcoming film “Premium Rush,” about a New York City bike messenger, plagiarized a similar book, arguing they had no implicit contract with the book’s author.
