'Just Dance' Creators Can't Shut Down New Game's Debut

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 8:29 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Wednesday denied video game producer Ubisoft Inc.'s bid to prevent rival OG International Ltd. from releasing an alleged copycat version of the popular game “Just Dance 3,” ruling Ubisoft hadn't shown it would be irreparably harmed by the game's release. 

Ubisoft lodged a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction Oct. 12 in California federal court, arguing OG’s game infringed copyrights covering the avatar element — the player-controlled dancer — and the command-relaying instructor component of “Just Dance 3.”...
