Comcast Shells Out $6M In Account Reps’ Wage Action

Law360, New York (November 14, 2011, 2:32 PM EST) -- Comcast Corp. on Friday reached a $6 million settlement in a class action brought by its Illinois customer account representatives who claimed they weren’t paid for work performed between their arrival at the office and their first phone call of the day.

The named plaintiffs filed a motion asking an Illinois federal court to preliminarily approve the settlement, under which Comcast agreed pay to resolve the dispute brought by more than 6,500 account representatives.

Approximately $3.9 million will be available for settlement payments after attorneys’ fees...
