MSNBC Gets Ex-Reporter's Defamation Claims Trimmed

Law360, New York (November 14, 2011, 8:01 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday axed defamation claims from a suit accusing MSNBC Cable LLC and two of its top players of improperly firing a former entertainment reporter, but left breach of contract allegations intact.

MSNBC had moved to kill the whole suit brought by Claudia DiFolco, who was a Los Angeles-based corespondent for the MSNBC shows "MSNBC at the Movies" and “MSNBC Entertainment Hot List,” by arguing that DiFolco repudiated her two-year contract when she sent a series of emails to her supervisors....
