US Bank Sues Hilton For Trying To End Hotel's Franchise

Law360, New York (November 14, 2011, 7:34 PM EST) -- U.S. Bank NA, as trustee for certain mortgage-backed securities, sued hotel chain Hilton Worldwide Inc. and two affiliates in Louisiana on Monday, accusing them of improperly trying to terminate a franchise agreement tied to an $8.72 million loan.

The bank says that Hilton refuses to recognize U.S. Bank as the lender on the loan and other agreements, which are backed by a New Orleans-area hotel, and that the chain is proceeding improperly with a termination of the franchise agreement on the hotel.
