Google's Bid To Limit Damages In Oracle IP Fight Fails

Law360, New York (November 15, 2011, 10:01 PM EST) -- Google Inc. saw its bid to trim potential damages in Oracle America Inc.'s suit over the Android operating system denied Tuesday, when a judge declined to limit Google's possible liability based on Oracle's supposed failure to mark its products with five of the patents-in-suit.

U.S. District Judge William Alsup of the Northern District of California denied without prejudice the search engine giant's motion for partial summary judgment based on Oracle's alleged failure to mark the patented products.
