Judge Says Hilton Can't Change Hotel Name For Now

Law360, New York (November 16, 2011, 11:48 AM EST) -- Hilton Worldwide Inc. can't take its name off a New Orleans hotel — yet — after a Louisiana federal judge on Tuesday granted U.S. Bank NA's request for a temporary restraining order preventing the hotel operator from pulling a franchise license.

U.S. District Judge Kurt Engelhardt agreed with the bank that defranchising the Hilton Garden Inn, which backs an $8.7 million loan for which U.S. Bank is the trustee, would lessen the value of both the hotel and the securities backed by its mortgage.
