Fundraiser For NYC Politician Charged With Fraud

Law360, New York (November 16, 2011, 8:06 PM EST) -- A campaign fundraiser for New York City Comptroller John C. Liu was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection with a scheme in which he used so-called straw donors to funnel a large, illegal contribution to an unidentified candidate reported to be Liu.

Xing Wu “Oliver” Pan was arrested at around 11 a.m. Wednesday and released in the evening on $100,000 bond. The next hearing in his case is scheduled for Dec. 16.
