9th Circ. Will Hear Toyota Appeal In Acceleration MDL

Law360, New York (November 16, 2011, 11:10 PM EST) -- The Ninth Circuit on Tuesday agreed to hear Toyota Motor Corp.'s appeal of a California district court's ruling that allowed Toyota owners whose cars did not have sudden acceleration defects to bring claims in multidistrict litigation against the carmaker.

The appeals court said it would hear Toyota's interlocutory appeal of U.S. District Judge James Selna's May decision allowing claims from car owners who said that though their cars did not have sudden acceleration problems, they suffered economic harm because the defect significantly decreased the resale value...
