Staples Center Wrongful Death Suit Pared

Law360, Los Angeles (November 17, 2011, 6:53 PM EST) -- A California judge on Thursday trimmed a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the parents of a 2-year-old boy who died after plummeting from a Staples Center luxury box after a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game.

Judge Susan Bryant-Deason nixed a public nuisance, false advertising and unfair business practice claim against Anschutz Entertainment Group Inc. and L.A. Arena Company LLC, which own and operate the arena.
