Judge Hands Pfizer A Mixed Bag In Celebrex Case

Law360 (July 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Marking both good and bad news for Pfizer Inc., the judge overseeing the massive products liability litigation over anti-inflammatory pain medications Celebrex and Bextra has opted to let numerous claims stand against the pharmaceutical giant while tossing a slew of others.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer partially rejected Pfizer's request to bounce a bunch of claims sought by various third-party payor plaintiffs from the multidistrict, antitrust litigation currently playing out in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
